In about an hour, Stamford will be awash with art and other creative opportunities when 2015 ARTWALK kicks off in downtown Stamford. It will continue through the evening and pick up on Saturday afternoon.
Look for art shows, sketch classes, dance lessons, live music, receptions, children’s events and more. The full schedule can be found here.
It is the third time that Stamford Downtown has organized the event, along with help from other organizations, retailers, venues and restaurants.
Although it is free to wander along the ARTWALK route, the art on display will be available for purchase. Tonight, seven galleries will be holding wine and cheese receptions for new show openings, according to a recent news release.
One can pick up his or her passport and route map at the reception desk at the Ferguson Library. The hours of the event are Friday, June 26, 5 to 8 p.m., and Saturday, June 27, 2 to 6 p.m.
And when the fun is over on Friday, head over to the Palace Theatre in Stamford for its “92nd St Y Live – On Andy Warhol,” when Warhol’s nephew James Warhola talks about the artist’s life and art.
